Data import
In order to speed up the entry of static data relating to staff, suppliers and products you can use the data import option which is available from the side menu or within each of the Your business screens. Data imports will also be available for transactional data to speed up entry and improve accuracy.
To import into Zeropath select the Data Import option that is under Tools & Administration on the left hand side.
The initial screen shows imports that have been done by admin users on the system, you can use the arrow to view those imports and the logs associated with them.
To start again, select Start a new import on the right hand side.
Select the import by clicking on one of the tabs.
The next screen is Select a file.
You can either Browse for the file or drop a file into the box.
Other options here allow you to download a csv file with the header fields the import is looking for so that you can accurately populate the file.
The Setting screen is defaulted to the most likely options.
The default settings give the most flexibility for the import.
They can be changed by clicking in the box to select another from the dropdown.
Import action is to determine whether the file you are importing contains data which might be new and therefore need adding as a new record, or already exists so the current record in the database needs updating only.
The default is insert and update, but the individual options can be selected instead.
Map fields confirms that the fields in the file match the fields the import is expecting. The system will try to auto match, but where there is a difference in the field name you will need to select the corresponding name from the dropdown.
Default values will check if any fields had not been matched on the previous screen and may therefore need a set value which is the same on every record in the file. This can be set against the field here. If there is a blank field in the file which should remain so, then do not do anything here and click Next to go to the final screen.
Finally, click the Run import button to complete the task. On completion you will be given a log on screen which will show the number of successful and unsuccessful lines in the file with help on why lines may have failed.
The failed lines can be re run once corrected.
At any stage you can click on the import steps and make changes before importing.
Once completed you will be returned to the initial screen showing the imports run to date.
